So many exciting things happened in February! I grew professionally and got to work on projects from two repeat clients.
Announcements:
I'd like to begin with some very exciting announcements.
First, the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading accepted my upgrade application—I'm now a Professional Member of the CIEP!

From the CIEP's website description about Professional Membership:
Professional membership is for editors and proofreaders who have established careers in the sector and are recognised for their expertise as highly skilled professionals.
To meet their eligibility criteria, I had to prove to their membership committee that I had at least 500 hours of work experience as an editor or proofreader, provide at least one reference, and prove that I have undertaken substantial training, including completing my core editing or proofreading training.
This means that I've been vetted by a professional organization and have met their stringent criteria to advance to Professional Level. I even have my own directory listing there now, which is one of the perks that only Professional or Advanced Professional Members have.
The second announcement: My website got a long-overdue overhaul! I'd been adding pages and services by myself for a while, and the website had started losing its professional look.
Cue the incredible Madison Hobbs from Ad Meliora. She redesigned my website and logo AND optimized my website for better SEO results. You might have also seen some posts authored by her here on my blog—that was her teaching me how to write engaging posts instead of just uploading Canva images with a summary of my latest jobs.
What do you think? Have you taken a look at my website recently? I'm most excited about the visual portfolio Madison created for me; it has clickable covers so you can go directly to the Amazon listing of each book and purchase them right away!
February Recap
I had very limited time for editing during February because of the ongoing back-and-forth with Madison and the time it took to fill out my upgrade application, but I did manage to squeeze in two projects:
To Harm and to Heal

Author Ava Devlin had hired me to do two copyediting passes on To Harm and to Heal, and I did the second copyediting pass in February. I'm still giddy from excitement that this book featured a Black FMC. I hope to see more diversity like this in Regency Historical Romance books and series.
Right now Ava is taking a break from self-publishing and will be publishing a new series of Regency Historical Romance with Dragonblade Publishing! Her next book, titled Fluently Speaking Baron, is available for preorder right now. I'll be purchasing the Kindle version during the next double Kindle points event because I love supporting my clients and because she's honestly an awesome writer and I love her books.
Twisted Enemy
The second book I edited in February was Twisted Enemy, book 2 of the Brothers of Sin series by Luna Pierce, which will be published by Keeperton's Arndell Imprint. This book is a contemporary dark romance, and the FMC is amazing and HOT. Suffice it to say that she had me questioning my sexuality!
I actually got to proofread book 1 of the Brothers of Sin series, Dangerous Haven, last year, and it's going to be published on September 22, 2026, also by Arndell.

Stay tuned for March's recap. I'm already booked until May, so if you want to publish during the summer, please reach out to book your spot in time!
