Welcome to The Editing Sweetheart
You've finished writing your novel, sent it to a developmental editor, and now you want to polish it to create a professional end product that you can proudly sell on Amazon or other book distributors.
Now is the perfect moment to let the Editing Sweetheart find all those little errors hiding in your manuscript. I can copyedit, proofread, and beta read your genre fiction manuscripts.
What do you need from your editor?
Professional Training // Experience // Reliability
Proofread:
1 cent per word
($10 per 1,000 words)

A proofread will cover minimal corrections to polish a final draft, focusing on correcting introduced or missed errors after a manuscript has already been professionally copyedited.

All changes will be made using the Track Changes feature in Word or with the markup tools in Adobe Acrobat.

This service consists of a single pass.

Turnaround time varies by project and is based on word count.
Services
2-Pass Copyedit:
Starts at 2 cents per word
($20 per 1,000 words)

I will correct spelling, grammar, missing or erroneous punctuation, and incorrectly used words, and point out discrepancies in spelling of proper nouns, in descriptions, and in timeline events. I will also make sure there is consistency in aspects such as hyphenation, capitalization, and stylistic choices.
All edits will be made using the Track Changes feature in Word.

This service consists of two consecutive passes.

A comprehensive style sheet with characters, places, made-up words, and stylistic choices will be provided. I will also include an editorial letter that explains what to watch out for when writing your next book, as well as provide tailored resources that you may find particularly useful for understanding problematic concepts.

Turnaround time varies by project and is based on word count and the level of editing needed (light, medium, or heavy).
Beta Read:
$3 per 1,000 words

I will read your MS in its entirety and offer unbiased feedback for every chapter, discussing what I enjoyed, what didn't engage me, if I found any part confusing, and if I found any glaring inconsistencies. Apart from providing the chapter-by-chapter feedback in a separate report, I will also leave comments within the manuscript itself in particular areas that need further rewriting for optimal reader enjoyment.

Turnaround is 10 days.
Manuscript Evaluation
$600
I will evaluate your manuscript to determine which issues need to be addressed and will point out areas you could adjust or rewrite to improve the manuscript before you get it edited, which will help save on editing costs.
The evaluation will provide comprehensive and actionable feedback, pointing out plot holes and loose story threads, discrepancies in descriptions or events, and recurring grammatical issues. Along with a report, I will also provide resources from various professionals in the publishing industry to help you better understand concepts I believe you're having trouble implementing successfully.

Turnaround is 2 weeks.

I will go over your manuscript to ensure proper flow of sentences and paragraphs, restructuring or suggesting rewrites as needed; point out repetitive wording, anachronistic words, and incorrectly used words; make suggestions on where to rework the manuscript if the pacing is lagging or is rushing; suggest parts that could be cut out to avoid redundancy or unnecessary information; suggest where there needs to be a better transition between events in the same scene or chapter and offer suggestions for rewriting; suggest where dialogue could be incorporated or removed to improve the pacing or break monotony; point out areas where character motivation for a certain action is not convincing or sufficient; offer rewording suggestions on parts that need to be rewritten to ensure ease of reading and syntactic flow; and point out where there is head-hopping.
