Proofreading:
Starts at $450

I will do a basic proofreading of your edited manuscript. Proofreading is the final polish of an edited manuscript. Only checks for punctuation, spelling, and typos. All changes will be made using the Track Changes feature in Word.

This service consists of a single pass.

Turnaround varies by project based on difficulty and length. I estimate two to three weeks for novels over 60 thousand words. Rush turnaround of 1 week, if available, is an additional $200.

2-Pass Copyediting:
Starts at $1,000
(for manuscripts up to 60K words)

I will correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and incorrect word usage, point out discrepancies, and offer comments and suggestions on what needs to be reworked for ease of reading. I will also make sure there is consistency in hyphenation, spelling, capitalization, and numerals, as well as eliminate redundancies and offer suggestions for rewording repetitive language and descriptions. All edits will be made using the Track Changes feature in Word.

This service consists of two consecutive passes.
A comprehensive style sheet with characters, places, made-up words, and stylistic choices will also be provided, and I will also include an editorial letter that addresses the common mistakes found throughout the manuscript.

Turnaround varies by project based on difficulty and length. I estimate three to four weeks for novels over 60 thousand words. Rush turnaround of 10 days, if available, is an additional $300.
Beta Reading:
$3 per 1,000 words

I will read your MS in its entirety and offer reader feedback for every chapter, discussing what I enjoyed, what didn't work for me as a reader, if I found any part confusing, and if I found any glaring inconsistencies. I will provide a Word document with the feedback and also make comments within the manuscript itself in particular areas that need clarification.

Turnaround is 7 to 10 days. Rush turnaround of 5 days is available for an additional $30.
Book Bible Add-On:
$150 (per book)
I will create a book bible for you with character names and descriptions, invented words, and places. $150 per book in series if I'm only reading the manuscript to create the book bible. A 2-pass copyedit will provide a comprehensive style sheet with this information, so you won't need this add-on if I'm hired to do the 2-pass copyediting.

I will create a detailed summary of your manuscript, as well as list all the characters, themes, and tropes, and settings. This service provides a companion guide to your book, which can be sold separately from your book. The author retains the copyright.
