Professional Development Opportunity:

The Northwest Editors Guild is offering a webinar by fellow editor Sohini Ghose titled "Canva for Editors." The webinar is free to watch until May 18, 2026, after which it will be available to Guild members only.

This webinar is for fellow editors who want to learn more about several Canva features useful to those running an editorial business, but it features a lot of neat tricks that authors can incorporate to their own marketing efforts. For example, I didn't know about the "bulk create" option in Canva, which off the top of my head can be used to quickly create teaser images out of book quotes.

From the Northwest Editors Guild page:

In this practical workshop, you’ll learn to use Canva as a strategic business tool—not simply to create attractive graphics, but to strengthen your brand, streamline your workflow, and elevate your client experience. We’ll begin with the essentials: templates, branding fundamentals, and polished client-facing documents. From there, we’ll move into brand kits, layout control, collaboration features, Canva’s AI tools, and accessibility best practices.

I hope you get to take advantage of the webinar while it's free!
